Yeast is a common inhabitant of the mouth. But in times of infection, weakness, chronic illness, drug medication or radiation it can become a problem and cause a yeast infection .Thus a yeast infection is commonly called an "opportunistic" infection. The yellowish like mass can occur in any area of the mouth the common symptoms are burning tongue or mouth and bad breath. Treatment consists of taking a prescription of " Nystatin" or in more severe cases " Nizoral" or " Diflucan". If the patient wears a denture or a partial denture, "Nystatin" powder sprinkled into the denture works well, followed by soaking the denture or partial in a solution of "Nystatin"
